Joplin's search is full-text only. MDDock's hybrid recall combines keyword search with semantic embeddings, so when you ask 'what did I write about packaging half a year ago?' you get the right note even when your wording was different. The same query on Joplin returns nothing because the exact words do not match.

Joplin imports MDX with a heavy XML envelope that often needs manual cleanup. MDDock reads the same Markdown body and skips the metadata overhead, so your notes look like the .md you wrote, and your frontmatter fields come through cleanly without touching a regex.

Export from Joplin as MDX or Markdown
In Joplin: File → Export All → MDX (or Markdown). Joplin writes one file per note into a folder of your choice.
Open the folder in MDDock
File → Open Folder and pick the Joplin export. MDDock reads MDX bodies and skips the XML envelope — your notes open as plain .md.
Start writing with AI memory
Open the AI sidebar and ask MDDock about a topic. Hybrid recall finds it even when your wording was different from the original note.
