Frequently asked questions
Is the cloud required to use MDDock?+
No. The desktop app and the terminal TUI work fully offline on local files. The cloud is an optional layer for sync, sharing and publishing — turn it on when you need it, ignore it when you don't.
What does sync cover?+
Your vault across devices — Mac, Windows and the iOS app. Edit on one device, pick up on another, with conflict-safe syncing of plain Markdown files.
Who can read my notes in the cloud?+
Only you. Notes are private to your account by default; nothing is public unless you explicitly create a share link or publish a page. There is no social graph, no discovery feed of your content.
Can I share a single document with someone?+
Yes — create a share link for one note and the recipient reads it in the browser, no account needed on their side. Revoke the link any time.
What happens to my files if I stop using the cloud?+
Nothing. Your notes are plain Markdown files that live on your disk first — cancel the cloud and every word is still yours, still local, still openable by any editor.
