Feature · AI & agents

AI that edits your notes — with your approval.

Chat with citations that jump to file:line. Agent edits arrive as visual diffs you approve or roll back. Memory recalls what you wrote weeks ago — all on your own files.

Agent skill

Agents work in your vault, not against it

Install MDDock skills for Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex so your agents read skills, rules, and memory via CLI, TUI, or MCP. Local hybrid recall gives agents context, and every change stays in your vault.

Frequently asked questions

What is an MCP server, in plain words?+
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard way for AI agents to use external tools. MDDock runs one inside your vault, so an agent can search your notes, read them, and write new ones — through a permissioned, auditable door instead of copy-paste.
Which AI agents work with MDDock?+
Any MCP-compatible agent. Claude Code connects out of the box; other agents that speak MCP (Codex, Cursor, and friends) can attach the same way. One protocol, no per-agent plugins.
Can an AI agent damage my notes?+
Every write an agent makes is recorded in a hash-chained audit log — who changed what, when, and why. Your notes are plain Markdown files on disk, so you can diff, review and restore with the tools you already trust, including git.
Do agents work on my existing folder of notes?+
Yes. There is no import step and no proprietary database — point MDDock at the folder you already have and the agent works there, in place. Your files stay where they are.
What does 'AI memory' mean here?+
Your vault is indexed for hybrid recall — semantic meaning plus exact keywords — so when you (or your agent) ask a question, MDDock finds the relevant notes with citable sources. The longer you write, the better the memory gets.
